Last weekend Bryan Orr and I were out at Lake Olathe well before anyone else.  It was a breathtaking sunrise over a slightly foggy lake.  The water was very clear and Bryan was anxious to get his new blind set up and snapping photos.  Landscapes continue to stand out this month, but next month promises to be chocked full of portraits.  Enjoy and let me know if you have questions.

Wow, this guy is brave enough to where a bowtie on a major youtube video.  Maybe that’s exactly what I need a huge quirk to distract people from any other minor faux pas I make during a session. If I wear a brown polka dotted bowtie I’d get whooped up on.

Here’s a recent discovery.  Bryan Orr and I were walking around Lake Lenexa and finally made it to the dam side.  Wouldn’t you know it, photo opportunities galore.  There are so many opps before you get to the dam it’s easy to see why we never made it all the way the dam before.  Glad we did, this is straight out of the camera with a lightroom Cold Tone filter on the first two.  Last one is cropped, but again straight out of the camera.

Lighting it up in Austin with Robert Seale from PhotoShelter.com on Vimeo.

Wow, this is an amazingly good video with a lot of technique explained.  This video is in depth and long (50 minutes) so plan on spending a good chunk of time on this lesson… it won’t be wasted.

I’m making a few changes to the web site tonight to see if I can integrate DasBlog with another ASP.NET web application.  If I bring down the web site, don’t worry I made a back up before I started!

Specifically, I want to see if I can create dynamic content alongside the blog application in the same folder structure.

The 50mm is still delivering and will soon suffer from overuse.  Can’t get enough of it… I think I’ll name her soon (yes, lens’ are girls in my book).

On Easter Day the family and I found ourselves across from Calamity Line Park in Olathe, Kansas.  The Japanese Cherry Trees where in full blossom and the 50mm lens was just waiting to flare.  The new lens definitely delivered.

Today, they got along… Maybe it was because it’s Easter and you just have to get along when you start thinking about Jesus.  I’m ordering prints and plastering the walls with these.  My favorite printer just got an order… Mpix

Photo Info:  All natural light with my 50mm Canon prime lens.
